Perlas ng Silangan: Pagdiriwang ng Kultura is solely based on the current situation happening in our country and its purpose is to develop the diversity of our Perlas ng Silangan, the Philippines.

BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM

Globalization has greatly affected the behavior and culture of every individual. Technological innovation, environmental change, and progressing society — are some factors affecting our culture and tradition. The Philippines is a known country for being rich in culture, but nowadays, some of the cultures existing aren’t that known to others. Due to globalization and the progression of society, we sometimes forget the existence of our culture. We recognize the cultural die down as a problem that is still occurring nowadays. Moreover, we want to bridge the cultural diversity and disseminate information about our rich culture. We will know more about the proposed project and its aim as we go further.

PROPOSED PROJECT

Perlas ng Silangan: Pagdiriwang ng Kultura is a project that is centralized on building and planting the dynamic concept in the minds of the Filipino people, especially those from the younger generation, about the wide variety of cultures in the Philippines. A presentation will be held by the Group 3 of STEM2E through the means of a webinar, discussing the various themes and complex cultures the Philippines has to offer. Beyond the famous tourist spots and known people of each region, we will also delve into the languages, famous arts, and food to further immerse each one into the many cultures.Through this project, the presenters foresee the cultural enlightenment of the people and appreciation for the unique yet special customs of the different regions in the country.

RATIONALE OF THE PROJECT

Today’s generation has taken the custom of modernity in the Philippines. Other countries' influence has dramatically affected Filipinos' trends and recreational activities. This may promote cultural diversity, there is a lack of awareness and knowledge of Philippine cultures. The goal of this program is to bring out the memories of traditions that the past ancestors of the Philippines have given to us. The program will be a source of inspiration and connection between the people and the culture.In accordance with this, the program’s intention is to enrich the diversity of Perlas of Silangan and bring out the beauty that represents what every Filipinoes are proud of. It will also tackle various themes about the country with selected representatives and the information given will be educational purposes only. Likewise, the program will serve as a gateway to know the country’s culture even more and it’ll gain the communities’ knowledge within the nature, history and culture of the Philippines.
